We at Entis see insects as an excellent alternative source of nutrition. Insects are comparable to meat in their nutritional value – yet growing them creates far less greenhouse gases and takes very little water in contrast to the meat industry.
Entis aims to create insect food products that are easy to approach and will tingle your taste buds every time!
These melt-in-the-mouth delicious chocolate crickets are a one of a kind creation that emerged from the joint efforts of Entis and chocolate manufacturer Kultasuklaa. Each packet has 50 grams of whole Finnish crickets coated with milk chocolate.

WHAT DO ENTIS CHOCOLATE CRICKETS CONTAIN?
Our Chocolate Crickets are made and produced in Finland using the following ingredients: Sugar, Whole milk powder, Cocoa butter, Cocoa paste, Finnish farmed house crickets /Acheta Domesticus (7,5%) boiled and dried, Emulsifier (soy lecithin), Vanilla
WHO MAKES OUR CHOCOLATE CRICKETS?
Our crickets come from cricket farms from a region in western Finland called Ostrobothnia. The Chocolate Crickets are produced at Kultasuklaa factory in Iittala, Finland.

FROM IDEA TO ACTION
Entis first saw the light of day in January 2017, when 5 like-minded students crossed paths at a startup- course that had brought together different branches of the university of Turku.
The diverse bunch quickly found their own tune and so the idea of an insect food company emerged.
Itching to make it happen, the team started to work on their dream to make it a reality. Not long after, the first Entis product – 20 grams of dried Finnish house crickets - was launched. It wasn’t as simple as it sounds though, given that at the time of release insects were not legally speaking food. But Team Entis saw this as only a minor bump in the road, and soon the black Entis bags of “eye- candy” found its way onto the shelves of eco-store chain Ruohonjuuri and other smaller retailers.
The pioneering work on the new field of insect food paid off sooner than expected when insects were legalized and approved for human consumption in September 2017. So began a furious product development process and the first chocolatey fruits of all the hard work can be found on the shelves of Finland’s biggest grocery stores.
Our scrumptious cricket chocolates are only the beginning. We’re just getting started - the next members of the Entis product family will be released during Spring 2018.
